Sweet Dignity
(Kevin Mileski)

How simple can it be, oh sweet dignity?
When it was forgotten, oh sweet dignity.
Now life moves slower when I go
to a place that lets me know when I move too fast.
Conversation's all the people have
and they tell you that you're good at best;
but you'll never last.
Do you remember when you first began
when you sang your song into a fan
while everyone was sitting around talking?
How simple could it really be, oh sweet dignity?
If we merge our thoughts from a simple mind
with the quiet hum of stereotypes,
the world would end.
What difference can I possibly make
standing on an empty stage
with a song to lend?
Now the words could flow into pictures you never thought real.
Conditions you've given into are far from that ideal
How simple could it really be, oh sweet dignity?
Do you remember when you first began
when you sang your song into a fan
while everyone was sitting around talking?
How simple could it really be, oh sweet dignity?
Do you remember how it used to be, oh sweet dignity?
Take my worries and I'll fly with time,
clearly work my battle lines between good and bad.
Got a weekend off, I'll be feeling fine.
Four AM, gonna run the lights till I'm far from sad.
What a room full of pillows wouldn't solve for me
is my recent loss of memory of a simpler time.
And I'm determined to make my oppinion known
and feel that if you really won't,
you get a complex in any language.
Do you remember when you first began
when you sang your song into a fan
while everyone was sitting around talking?
How simple could it really be, oh sweet dignity?
Do you remember how it used to be, oh sweet dignity?
