Kevin Mileski: Listen/Look

You Would Have Loved Me When I Was Young

In a while we will slow down
all the bigger words will be just thrown around
to captivate your own personal crowd
and walk on thin ice for a while

All this while I've been full blind
I just turned thirty but I'm feeling like I'm 29
I'd take nothing for my hairline
as it's been gone for some time.

CHORUS
But in a while you'll see what I've become,
You've seen me tell all rights from wrongs.
But if you loved me then and for so long,
you would have loved me when I was young.

Long ago I could see time --
I watched it running fashionably behind.
Now I'm walking on that thin line
Between what I know and what I should.

Shouldn't I be on some marquee by now?
Shouldn't I stop looking? Maybe I should settle down.
But what's so wrong with the traveling man
if he comes with stories to tell.

CHORUS
If you focus now on where you've been
You would've known how you'd begun
But if you loved me then and for so long
You would have loved me when I was young
