Kevin Mileski: Listen/Look

Down To Fate

This is a story about personal perspective and speculation but it came mainly from learning that our country would be extending their war and we had no say as to what we would do. The first thing that came to mind was the Boston Tea Party.  It needs work and we should respect our own wishes.

There wasn't anything missing, there wasn't anything changed
All their lives had been shattered; otherwise, nothing changed
The enemies had spoken -- agreed that no one had won.
And the president went crazy when the war was done.

CHORUS:
I've seen good times turn into bad times, I've seen the summer sky turn grey
I'm out of wishes -- I'm down to fate.
I've seen good news turn into bad news but I've made my peace with pain
I'm out of wishes -- I'm down to fate.

Thought I'd think about some travel, see the world once again.
Figure out what I hated, find some long distance friends
Hitch a ride with a stranger, pick his brain for a while
Watch the news on a Sunday, catching up with my smile

CHORUS

I think, if everyone stopped at the very same time,
they would all hear something in the back of their minds.
A little peace and quiet, a little thing gone wrong
A little mystery solved in the heart of a song

CHORUS
