Kevin Mileski: Listen/Look

Zombie Feet

I had a vision. A vision of a lonely guy who lives in a huge house he bought through an inheritence or something like that -- a recluse.  He doesn't like company. However, he has houseguests. Zombies who are relatively harmless to him but who are very loud dancers as well. They have a mutual understanding: They annoy him just to get a rise out of him while he continuously interrupts with his pleads for them to stop.

I can't believe this, 9pm, the sun is just down
I'm in my old desheveled home and all alone
The TV's off, my music's playing, I've closed the doors
But I hear the heavy footsteps through the creeks in the floor.

CHORUS
What do, what do you say?

My eyes are wide, I check the time, it's earlier than
it was the last time I had heard them starting their dance
by far the least coordinated dancers around
so I beg them please won't they mind keeping it down?

CHORUS

So I head upstairs with vengeance for I've slept not a wink
I fully blame those bastards for my new need to drink
If I told them once I've told them all a thousand times
if they'd only keep the stomping down then I wouldn't mind

CHORUS

I break into the darkest room where they dance every night
they all act scared and quite surprised when I show them the time.
The biggest one just looks at me and says I look tired
but just because they like me they'll be finished by five.

CHORUS
